The Information Minister has instructed content producers to adhere to ethical standards

Phnom Penh: The Minister of Information, Mr. Neth Pheaktra, advised journalists, video content producers, bloggers, especially MMO monetization groups, to respect professional ethics in content production, rather than solely focusing on attracting Likes, Shares, and views for monetary gain.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Influence Media on the evening of March 9, 2024, Minister Net Pheaktra emphasized that all advertisements must adhere to professionalism, respect individual privacy, and refrain from spreading false information, which could jeopardize security, public order, and provoke unrest or chaos in an attempt to gain attention from Facebook or text users.

The Minister of Information expressed hope that video or blog content producers would utilize their creativity and optimism to accurately and effectively showcase the beauty and reality of Cambodia to the world. Furthermore, the Minister added that the Ministry of Information has consistently supported and encouraged the establishment of various media outlets, believing that the dissemination of information through diverse channels not only provides the Cambodian people and the general public with timely and authentic information about Cambodia, but also raises awareness and contributes to the nation's development.

According to Neth Pheaktra, there are currently more than 2,000 traditional and modern media outlets in Cambodia registered with the Ministry of Information, playing a crucial role in content production and dissemination to the public. Additionally, he noted the significant presence of content on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and millions of Twitter accounts, contributing to the media landscape in Cambodia.
